Molly Hatchet is an American southern rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1975. The band's name comes from a notorious pirate who operated in the Caribbean during the late 17th century. Known for their energetic live performances and hit singles like "Flirtin' with Disaster" and "Whiskey Man", Molly Hatchet has been a staple of southern rock music for over four decades.
The band's original lineup consisted of Danny Joe Brown (vocals), Duane Roland (guitar), Steve Holland (guitar), Riff West (bass), and Bruce Gulbis (drums). Over the years, there have been several lineup changes, with lead vocalist Jimmy Harnell joining in 1992. Despite the changes, Molly Hatchet's music has remained true to their southern rock roots.
In addition to their hit singles, Molly Hatchet has released numerous albums throughout their career, including "Molly Hatchet" (1978), "Flirtin' with Disaster" (1979), and "No Gator Bezos" (1984).
