Spandau Ballet was one of the most successful and iconic British rock bands of the 1980s. Formed in London in 1976, the band's early years were marked by a series of lineup changes before settling on Tony Hadley (vocals), Gary Kemp (guitar, keyboards), Steve Norman (drums, percussion) and Rick Fisher (bass). With their unique blend of glam rock, pop, and new wave, Spandau Ballet released their debut album "Journeys to Glory" in 1981, which included the hit single "To Cut a Long Story Short."

Their subsequent albums, including "Two Wrapped Around One Another" (1982) and "True" (1983), cemented their status as one of Britain's most popular bands. The latter album spawned the massive hits "Gold", "Pleasure" and "Chant No. 1 (I Don't Need This Pressure On)". Their music was characterized by Gary Kemp's soaring vocals, Tony Hadley's distinctive stage presence and the band's ability to craft infectious hooks and memorable lyrics.

In the late 1980s, Spandau Ballet began to explore new sounds and styles, incorporating elements of rock, pop and R&B into their music. The result was a series of critically acclaimed albums, including "Through the Noise" (1990) and "Bone Machine" (1995). Although the band's popularity waned in the 1990s and early 2000s, Spandau Ballet has experienced a resurgence in recent years, with several successful tours and new music releases. Despite their ups and downs, they remain one of Britain's most beloved and enduring rock bands.
