Stone Temple Pilots are an American rock band that rose to fame in the 1990s with their unique blend of grunge, hard rock, and pop. Formed in San Diego, California in 1986 by brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo, along with singer Scott Weiland, the band quickly gained a following with their debut album "Core" in 1989.

Their breakthrough came with the release of their second album "Purple" in 1994, which featured hit singles like "Vasoline" and "Interstate Love Song". The album was a huge commercial success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide. Stone Temple Pilots continued to produce successful albums throughout the decade, including "Tiny Music" in 1996 and "No. 4" in 1999.

After Scott Weiland's departure from the band in 2003, STP went on hiatus before reuniting with new lead vocalist Jeff Gutt in 2017. The band has continued to tour and release new music, including their 2018 album "Perdida", which marked their first all-acoustic record. With a career spanning over three decades, Stone Temple Pilots have left an indelible mark on the rock music landscape.
