Vixen is an American rock band that formed in 1978 and rose to fame in the early 1980s with their unique blend of hard rock, R&B, and funk. The original lineup consisted of four sisters: Janet Jackson's future husband René Elizondo Jr., Denise Richards, Gina Fox, and Tamara Hoffman. With their debut album Vixen, released in 1988, the band gained a significant following among fans of rock music.
Their second album, Rev It Up, was released in 1990 and featured hit singles like "Edge of Heaven" and "Fettish". The band's popularity peaked during this period, with their unique sound and energetic live performances earning them a loyal fan base. Although the band underwent lineup changes over the years, Vixen continued to produce music and perform until they disbanded in 1998.
In recent years, the surviving members of Vixen have reunited and performed together, revisiting their classic hits and introducing new material.
