Born on December 17, 1938, in Orillia, Ontario, Canada, Lightfoot is known for his distinctive voice, masterful guitar playing, and poetic lyrics that often explore themes of love, nature, and Canadian history.
Lightfoot's music career took off in the 1960s with hits like "If You Could Read My Mind" and "Early Morning Rain."
