Formed in 1983, Guided by Voices is an American indie rock band from Dayton, Ohio, known for their lo-fi production quality and Robert Pollard's distinctive vocal style. The band has released over 20 studio albums to date, with a discography that spans multiple decades.
The band's early work was characterized by its raw, DIY ethos, with many of their earliest releases being self-recorded on cassette tapes. As the years went on, Guided by Voices developed a more polished sound without sacrificing their signature fuzz and distortion. Pollard's lyrics often explore themes of relationships, nostalgia, and introspection, making his songs relatable to fans of all ages.

They've been praised for their innovative approach to songwriting and recording, which has influenced many other indie rock bands. With a career spanning multiple decades, Guided by Voices continues to produce music that resonates with fans worldwide.
