Runrig Vinyl Records: The Pioneering Scottish Folk-Rock Band

Formed in 1973 on the Isle of Mull, Scotland, Runrig was a groundbreaking folk-rock band that blended traditional Celtic music with modern rock sensibilities. Led by brothers Calum and Rory MacDonald, the group's distinctive sound was marked by soaring vocals, intricate instrumental arrangements, and lyrics that celebrated Scottish culture and heritage.

Runrig released their debut album, "Play Gaelic," in 1978, but it was their 1981 breakthrough album "The Cutter and The Clan" that truly established them as a major force in the British music scene. With hits like "Loch Lomond" and "America Was Our Home," Runrig's unique blend of folk, rock, and Celtic influences captivated audiences nationwide.
