Roxy Music was a pioneering British rock band that formed in 1970 and disbanded in 1982. The group's unique blend of glam rock, art rock, and progressive rock helped to define the era's musical landscape.
Fronted by charismatic singer-songwriter Bryan Ferry, Roxy Music released nine studio albums during their original run, including their debut album "Roxy Music" (1972), "For Your Pleasure" (1973), and the critically acclaimed "Stranded" (1973). The band's most successful period came in the late 1970s with hits like "Virginia Plain," "Do It Yourself," and "Love Is the Drug." These songs showcased Ferry's distinctive vocals, paired with guitarist Phil Manzanera's innovative playing style.
Roxy Music's impact on rock music cannot be overstated. They influenced a wide range of artists, from David Bowie to Queen, and continue to inspire new generations of musicians and fans alike. Although the band has not officially reunited since their initial breakup in 1982, Bryan Ferry has continued to release solo albums and tour, keeping Roxy Music's legacy alive.
