Born on October 13, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, Simon began his musical journey as part of the iconic duo Simon & Garfunkel, alongside Art Garfunkel. The two musicians came together in the early 1960s and went on to create some of the most beloved folk-rock music of all time, including hits like "The Sound of Silence" and "Mrs. Robinson." After Simon & Garfunkel disbanded in 1970, Paul Simon embarked on a successful solo career, releasing his debut album The Only Living Boy in Greenwich Village in 1968.
