Porcupine Tree was a British progressive rock band formed by guitarist, singer and songwriter Steven Wilson in 1989. The band's music was characterized by intricate musicianship, introspective lyrics and a blend of heavy riffs and soaring melodies. With their unique sound and critically-acclaimed albums, Porcupine Tree gained a devoted following worldwide.
The band's early work was heavily influenced by the alternative rock scene of the 1990s, but they quickly evolved into a more complex and experimental act. Their breakthrough album "In Absentia" (2002) showcased their ability to craft hauntingly beautiful songs with intricate arrangements.
