Canned Heat was an American blues and rock band that emerged during the 1960s counterculture movement. Formed in 1965 by Adolfo "Fito" Camaro, Alan Wilson, John Lee, and Bob Hite, the group's name was inspired by a phrase coined by their friend, John Pearse, after a memorable night of partying.
With their unique blend of blues, rock, and boogie-woogie music, Canned Heat quickly gained popularity on the festival circuit, particularly at the legendary Woodstock Music & Art Fair in 1969.
