Ernest Tubb Vinyl Records: The King of Honky-Tonk

Ernest Tubb was a country music legend who earned the nickname "The King of Honky-Tonk" for his unique blend of traditional country, Western swing, and honky-tonk styles. Born in 1915 in Texas, Tubb grew up listening to Jimmie Rodgers and other early country musicians, which inspired him to start playing guitar at a young age.

Tubb's big break came when he recorded "Walking the Floor Over You" in 1947, which became a huge hit and launched his career. He went on to record numerous albums and singles throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including hits like "Waltz Across Texas," "The Yellow Rose of Texas," and "Don't Rob Another Man's Castle." Tubb's music was known for its storytelling ability, as well as his distinctive vocal style.

In addition to his solo work, Tubb was also a key figure in the development of the Grand Ole Opry, where he appeared regularly throughout his career. He was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982 and has been named one of the most influential country musicians of all time by various organizations.
