France Gall was a French pop singer and songwriter who rose to fame in the 1960s with her distinctive voice and charming personality. Born on April 9, 1947, in Paris, France, Gall began her music career at a young age, releasing her debut single "Laissez tomber les si" in 1962.

Her big break came in 1965 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Poupée de cire, poupée de son," which was written by Serge Gainsbourg. The song's catchy melody and Gall's sweet vocals made it a hit across Europe, and she quickly became a popular artist throughout the continent.

Throughout her career, France Gall released over 20 albums and had numerous hits, including "Bécaze", "L'amour, c'est l'amour" and "Chanson pour l'aujourd'hui". Her music was characterized by its light, playful tone and her signature whispery vocals. Despite struggling with health issues later in life, Gall remained an iconic figure in French pop music until her passing on January 22, 2018.
