The Gin Blossoms are an American rock band from Tempe, Arizona, known for their power pop and alternative rock sound. Formed in 1987 by brothers Jesse and Bill Leen, the band released their debut album New Miserable Experience in 1992 to moderate success.
Their breakthrough came with the single "Hey Jealousy", which reached number one on the US Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The song's popularity was fueled by its inclusion in the hit film Clueless, where it played during a memorable pool party scene. This exposure helped propel their album to platinum status, cementing the Gin Blossoms' place as one of the most popular alternative rock bands of the 1990s.
The band continued to release music throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, with Congratulations I'm Sorry being their best-selling album. Although they never quite replicated the success of "Hey Jealousy", the Gin Blossoms maintained a loyal fan base and continue to tour and release new music to this day.
