Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Bordeaux, formed in 1996 by brothers Joe and Christian Andreu, alongside drummer Mario Duprey. The name "Gojira" is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of Godzilla, a reference to their love for the iconic monster and its destructive power.

Known for their intense and energetic live performances, Gojira has built a loyal fan base around the world with their unique blend of progressive metal, death metal, and post-hardcore elements. Their music often explores themes of environmentalism, politics, and human nature, as well as personal struggles and introspection.

Throughout their career, Gojira has released seven full-length albums, including "Terra Incognita" (2002), "From the Sky to Zero" (2005), "The Way of All Flesh" (2008), "L'Enfant Sauvage" (2012), and "Magma" (2016). Their latest album, "Folklore", was released in 2021 and features a more refined and matured sound. With their thought-provoking lyrics, complex song structures, and crushing riffs, Gojira has cemented their place as one of the most respected and beloved metal bands of the modern era.
