Born on May 28, 1945, in El Cerrito, California, Fogerty grew up surrounded by music, with his father a guitarist and a singer himself. This upbringing undoubtedly influenced John's musical style and led him to form Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1964 with his brother Tom.
