Malevolent Creation was an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1985 by guitarist Bret Hoffman and vocalist Kelly Harper. The band's early work was characterized by its brutal and technical style, which drew inspiration from the thrash metal scene of the time.

Throughout their career, Malevolent Creation released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Retribution" (1992) and "Eternal". The band's music often featured complex time signatures and aggressive vocals, earning them a reputation as one of the most formidable acts in the death metal genre. Despite their influence, the band's popularity waned in the late 1990s and early 2000s, leading to a hiatus that lasted several years.

In the mid-2000s, Malevolent Creation reformed with a new lineup, releasing "Warded Alive" (2004) and "Beyond the Apocalypse" (2009). Although their later work did not achieve the same level of critical acclaim as their early efforts, it demonstrated the band's continued dedication to their craft. Malevolent Creation remained an important figure in the death metal community until their eventual disbandment in 2013.
