Rancid is an American punk rock band from Berkeley, California, formed in 1991. The band's music style combines elements of hardcore punk, skate punk, and folk punk, with lyrics that often focus on social issues, politics, and personal struggles.
Since their formation, Rancid has released 9 studio albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1993 and their most recent album "Trouble Maker" in 2017. The band has undergone some lineup changes over the years, with founding members Matt Freeman (bass) and Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar) being the core members throughout.
Rancid is known for their high-energy live performances, which often feature crowd surfing, stage diving, and other forms of audience participation. The band has toured extensively and has performed at numerous music festivals, including Warped Tour, Riot Fest, and the Vans Warped Tour.
