Running Wild was a German heavy metal band formed in 1976 by Rolf Köhler and Jürgen Graf. The group's music style was heavily influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement, and they were known for their fast-paced, energetic sound and socially conscious lyrics.
Running Wild released nine studio albums during their career, including their debut "Breaker" in 1984. The band's most successful album was "Blind Ruler", which was released in 1989 and featured the hit single "Riding the Rain". Running Wild's music often dealt with themes of freedom, rebellion, and the struggle against oppression.
The band's live performances were legendary for their energy and intensity, with Köhler's powerful vocals and the group's driving rhythms creating a frenetic atmosphere. Despite disbanding in 2009, Running Wild's influence can still be felt in the heavy metal genre, and they remain a beloved and respected band among fans of the style.
