Skyhooks was an Australian rock band that formed in Melbourne in 1974. The group's music blended elements of pub rock, hard rock, and new wave, and they were known for their high-energy live performances and catchy songwriting. Skyhooks' biggest hit was the single "Women in Uniform," which reached number one on the Australian charts.
Skyhooks released several albums throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including "Living in the 17th Century" (1975), "Ego (Is Not a Dirty Word)" (1976), "Hot Lady" (1977), and "Yesterday's Heroes" (1983). The band went through several lineup changes over the years, but their music remained popular with Australian audiences.
Skyhooks' legacy as one of Australia's most beloved rock bands continues to this day. They have been praised for their unique blend of humor and musicianship, and their music remains a staple of classic rock radio stations around the world.
