Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band is known for their unique blend of punk, rockabilly, and country music, which has been a staple of the punk scene for decades. With a career spanning over four decades, Social Distortion has released seven studio albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1981.
The band's most successful album to date is White Light, White Heat, White Trash, released in 1996, which features hit singles like "Ball and Chain" and "Don't Drag Me Down". The album received widespread critical acclaim and helped establish Social Distortion as one of the leading punk rock bands of the 1990s. The band's music often deals with themes of love, heartache, and social commentary.
Social Distortion has undergone several lineup changes throughout their career, with lead vocalist Mike Ness being the only constant member.
