The Animals were a British rock and roll band that formed in 1962. The group's music was characterized by their raw, bluesy sound and Eric Burdon's powerful, soulful voice. Their biggest hit, "House of the Rising Sun," is considered one of the greatest covers of all time.
The Animals were known for their eclectic blend of rock, pop, and R&B styles. They released several successful albums during the 1960s, including "The Animals" (1964) and "Animalization" (1965). The band's music was heavily influenced by American blues musicians like Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.
Despite their success, The Animals disbanded in 1966 due to internal tensions and creative differences. Eric Burdon went on to have a successful solo career, releasing several albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years, The Animals have reunited for one-off performances and special events.
