The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in Queens, New York in 1974. The band consisted of Joey Ramone (Jeffrey Hyman) on vocals, Johnny Ramone (John Cummings) on guitar, Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin) on bass and Marky Ramone (Marc Bell) on drums.
The Ramones were known for their fast-paced, high-energy music, as well as their raw and primitive sound. They were one of the first punk rock bands to gain popularity and are often credited with helping to define the genre. With a total of 14 studio albums released during their career, The Ramones left behind a legacy that continues to influence punk rock and other genres.
